This message is being issued for Jones, Marthavale, Ryans, Tabberabbera and replaces the message issued Saturday 8th February. 

  • The bushfire is approximately 15 km east of Dargo and 8 km east of Tabberabbera and is within containment lines.
  • Firefighters remain across the area patrolling the fire edge for any hot spots and aircraft will be overhead monitoring the situation.
  • Crews are also identifying and treating dangerous trees along roadsides prior to safe re-opening.

  • Bushfire Clean-Up Program: affected residents can register for 2020 Clean-Up Program online or by calling 1800 560 760.
There is no immediate threat to the community.

Road Safety
  • Drive to conditions and obey speed restriction signage.
  • Be aware of increased wildlife on roads, as well as livestock on roads due to damage to farm fences.
  • Do not bypass road blocks, many roads in the area have been crossed by fire and are now blocked by fallen trees and debris.
  • Burnt trees will continue to fall across these roads for the coming days.

  • If you need medical advice for burns or exposure to smoke, seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
  • Anyone experiencing wheezing, chest tightness and difficulty breathing should call Triple Zero (000).
If you cannot smell smoke you are not likely to be exposed to smoke and it will therefore not affect you.
