This Flood Watch is being issued for Latrobe River.

Minor Flooding possible in the flood watch area from Wednesday afternoon

A mature low-pressure system located offshore of the New South Wales coast will remain near the coast until early Thursday, before moving eastwards across the Tasman Sea

Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed across the Gippsland area since Tuesday morning and further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Wednesday and Thursday. River level rises have been observed in several catchments in Gippsland.

Further river level rises and areas of minor flooding are possible across the Flood Watch area from Wednesday afternoon. The location and severity of the flooding is extremely dependent on the movement of the low and the areas of heaviest rainfall.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively wet following recent rainfall.
