River levels along the Mitchell River at Glenaladale peaked just below the major flood level on Thursday afternoon. A flood peak near the moderate flood level is possible early Friday morning at Bairnsdale.
Mitchell River to Glenaladale:
Moderate flooding is occurring along the Mitchell River at Glenaladale.
The Mitchell River at Glenaladale peaked at 5.41 m around 02:30 pm Thursday 3 July, with moderate flooding. The river is currently at 5.12 m and falling, with moderate flooding. The Mitchell River at Glenaladale is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (4.50 m) overnight and into Friday morning.
Stay safe - avoid the flooded area. Be
aware of potential hazards caused by flooding and never enter floodwater.
