This Advice message is being issued for Genoa, Karbethong, Lake View, Mallacoota.
  • The bushfire at Mallacoota - Lake Barracoota is not yet under control.
  • Heavy machinery is working on providing safe access for field crews to the fire. 
  • From this afternoon and over coming days, FFMVic rapeller and ground crews  will be working on hotspots which continue to burn along the north-eastern through to north-western edge of the bushfire. 
  • Very little active fire has been found in the southern areas of the fire.
  • Mulching to increase fire breaks continues along existing tracks north of the fire edge.
There is no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions, which may change.
What you should do: 
  • Monitor weather conditions and warnings. 
  • Review your fire survival plan. 
  • If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.
Impacts in your area: 
  • Smoke may still be visible from nearby communities and roads.
