This Minor Flood Warning is being issued for the Ovens River downstream of Rocky Point.

The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently at 12.30 m and steady, with minor flooding. The Ovens River at Wangaratta may remain above the minor flood level (11.90 m) until early Saturday afternoon.

The King River at Docker Road is estimated to be around the minor flood level and falling slowly. The King River at Docker Road Bridge may fall below the minor flood level (3.95 m) during Friday afternoon.

This Advice message replaces the Advice issued at 9:02pm Thursday the 14th August 2026.  
Stay informed - monitor your local conditions and remain alert.
What you should do: 
  • Floodwater is dangerous and toxic - never drive, walk or ride through floodwater. 
  • Stay informed by listening to emergency broadcasters and monitoring warnings.
Impacts in your area: 
  • Floodwater is dropping to around Yogi's chin. 
  • All roads to Wangaratta remain open.
  • Many local walking tracks, bike paths, riverside streets and low-lying parks will still be closed due to floodwater until the river falls closer to the minor flood level.
