This Minor Flood Warning is being issued for the Goulburn River, Seymour to Shepparton including Mooroopna and Kialla.

The Goulburn River at Shepparton is currently peaking around 10.05 m, with minor flooding. The Goulburn River at Shepparton may remain above the minor flood level (9.50 m) until Saturday afternoon.

A separate Advice for Seven Creeks at Kialla West for minor flooding is also in place. 

The Broken River at Orrvale has now fallen below minor flood level. 

This Advice replaces the Advice issued at 11:12am Thursday the 14th of August 2026.

What you should do: 
  • Floodwater is dangerous - never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.
  • Farmers should consider moving livestock and machinery to higher ground.
  • Be prepared to act if your situation changes.
  • Contact family members and neighbours to ensure they are aware of the situation.
  • Stay informed by listening to emergency broadcasters and monitoring warnings.
To check if your property is prone to flooding, 
Impacts in the Shepparton, Mooroopna and Kialla areas:
  • The Ross Edwards Causeway is not expected to close.
  • Riverside areas and flats will be flooded for several days, including camps, areas near the Shepparton Lawn tennis court and Princess Park near the Bocce club and behind Aquamoves.  
  • High river levels and potential flooding of farmland and parks close to the rivers and creeks.
  • Watt Road closed both directions between Riverview Drive and McLennan Street. 
  • Riverview Drive closed both directions between Botanic Gardens Avenue and Watt Road.
  • Raftery Road closed both directions between Edgewater Road, Kialla and Seven Creeks Drive.
  • All vehicle & walking tracks within the Arcadia Streamside Reserve, Shepparton Regional Park & Gemmills Swamp Wildlife Reserve were closed on Monday. 
  • Floodwater may cover South Quinnan Parade and Hassett Street near Lincoln Drive.
  • In Shepparton, Stewart Reserve, the fenced dog park, Jaycee Park and the Swans Football/Netball club may be impacted by floodwater. 
  • There is floodwater in Jordan Place, Shepparton near The Boulevard. 

The Broken River has now fallen below minor flood level, but Farmland and yards around Doyles Road, parts of Kialla Lakes Drive and Gordon Drive, and many streets in Kialla Lakes may still be covered by floodwater. 

Impacts at Toolamba:
  • Tracks in the forested areas west of Goulburn River, such as Steves Track will be flooded.
