This Moderate Flood Warning is being issued for Avon-Richardson Rivers.

Moderate flooding is possible along the Richardson River at Donald Town.

The Richardson River at Donald Town is currently at 2.36 m and steady, with minor flooding. 

The Richardson River at Donald Town may reach around the moderate flood level (2.50 m) Friday afternoon. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.

This Advice replaces the Advice issued at 3:54pm Thursday 13th August 2026.

  • Farmers should still consider moving livestock and machinery to higher ground.
  • Contact family members and neighbours to ensure they are aware of the situation.
  • Floodwater is dangerous - never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.

  • High river levels and potential flooding in areas close to rivers and streams.
  • Local roads may be closed and low bridges may be underwater.

  • Stagnant water can be harmful to your health. Don’t swim, drink or wash in stagnant water.
  • Some roads may be closed or unsafe to travel on due to floodwater.
