The Avoca River at Charlton Town peaked at 6.39 metres Thursday evening, with moderate flooding.

The river is currently at 5.31 m and falling, with minor flooding. 

The Avoca River at Charlton Town may fall below the minor flood level (4.00 m) Saturday morning.

Impacts in your area: 
  • High river levels and potential flooding in areas close to rivers and streams.
  • Floodwater may affect Gordon Park Caravan Park, with conditions similar to the December 2023 Boxing Day flood.
  • Over-floor flooding of homes is not currently expected.
  • The Boort-Wycheproof Road crossing at the Avoca River may become flooded and unsafe to use.
  • Flooding of farmland downstream of Glenloth around Bunguluke and Ninyeunook, and inundation of local roads such as Jeruk River Road North and Ninyeunook Road, is possible.
  • Floodwaters may persist for several days as they move through the floodplain.
