Community Update - Fire
Buragwonduc, Crookayan, Glencairn, Licola North, Reynard, Tamboritha, Arbuckle, Licola, Mount Buller
is being issued for Arbuckle, Buragwonduc, Crookayan, Glencairn, Licola, Licola North, Mount Buller, Reynard, Tamboritha
- The bushfire 9 KM SW SNOWY RANGE AIRSTRIP and 25kms north of Licola is contained.
- Howitt Road and visitor sites from Arbuckle Junction to Zeka Spur Track
Junction have been reopened today, Monday 16 April.
- Forest Fire
Management Victoria crews will continue to burn out fuel within prepared
control lines whenever weather conditions
- These burning out
operations will be done by aerial ignition and may take a few more weeks to
- Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads, and from further afield, depending on weather conditions.
The following tracks are still closed and will remain closed for the
duration of the burning out operations and until the area is safe for public
Dingo Hill Track
Scrubby Hill Track
Caledonia River Track
Butcher Country Track
Butcher Country Link Track
Mount Howitt and Moroka Roads all remain open providing access to numerous
visitor locations across the Southern Alps. Access to Wonnangatta Valley
remains open from Licola, Dargo, Mansfield and Myrtleford. Iconic walking
destinations such as Mount Howitt and Tali Karng will also remain open.
There is no immediate threat to the community and
no action is required.
