VicEmergency app update #5

POSTED:
19 January 2017

New features to the VicEmergency app improve the way the community receives heat, shark and beach closure information.

The enhancements released today build on previous upgrades to the app to improve the user experience.

A new Heat Health map filter has been introduced and will display Heat Health Alerts declared by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Links have also been added to shark sighting and beach closure incidents to provide users with additional information on the Life Saving Victoria website.

There has also been a number of app fixes implemented such as notifications no longer being sent for fires marked as safe and notifications will now open the relevant watch zone map.

You can download the VicEmergency app from the App Store or Google Play.

App questions and answers can be found on the VicEmergency Knowledge Base: http://support.emergency.vic.gov.au
