This Moderate Flood Warning is being issued for the King River.

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT DOCKER ROAD BRIDGE FROM TUESDAY NIGHT   

 Up to 55 mm of rain has been recorded across the King River catchment in the 24 hours to 4 pm Tuesday.This rainfall has caused significant river level rises along the King River. Moderate flooding may develop along the King River at Docker Road Bridge from Tuesday night.   

The situation is being closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.   

King River:  
Moderate flooding may occur along the King River.   

The King River D/S Lake William Hovell is currently at 1.73 metres and rising. The King River D/S Lake William Hovell may reach the minor flood level (1.80 m) Tuesday evening.   

The King River at Docker Rd Bridge is currently at 2.63 metres and steady, below the minor flood level (3.70m). The King River at Docker Rd Bridge may exceed the minor flood level (3.70 m) Tuesday night. The river level may peak near the moderate flood level (3.95 m) Wednesday morning

Prepare for flooding now. Take actions to protect your life and property against potential hazards caused by flooding.
What you should do:

If you choose to leave:
  • Remember to take your pets, mobile phone, spare clothes and medications.
  • Travel to the home of family or friends who are in a safe location, away from flooding.
  • Turn off gas and electricity at your home or workplace.
  • Be aware of any road closures when you leave.
If you are travelling:
  • Do not enter flooded areas. Turn around a find a safe alternative route.
  • Be aware of road hazards including mud, debris and damaged roads or bridges.
  • Floodwater is dangerous - never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.
If you stay or if it is unsafe to leave:
  • Make sure you have enough food, drinking water, medications and pet food to survive for three to five days in case you become isolated.
  • Use plugs, sandbags or household items to block toilets, sinks and drains to stop sewerage backflow.
  • Lift it - move valuables and vital household items up on high surfaces, such as on top of tables, chairs, benches and beds.
