This Advice message is being issued for Mirranatwa, Victoria Valley, Willaura, Bornes Hill and surrounds.

This Advice replaces the Advice message issued on January 4, 2025 at 7.25 pm  

The bushfire in the Grampians National Park is not yet under control. Fire crews continue to undertake works to strengthen the containment lines around the fire. Smoke may be visible in nearby communities.   

The spread of the bushfire has slowed. You must monitor conditions and be ready to act.

The Grampians National Park remains closed to visitors. 

  • No access to the park is permitted. 
  • No date has been set for the reopening of the Grampians National Park
  • For details visit the Parks Victoria Website. No access to the park is permitted.
Continue to monitor conditions as the situation can change rapidly. 
Plan for what you will do if the situation changes.

What you should do: 

  • Monitor weather conditions and warnings. 
  • Residents accessing fire affected areas must remain vigilant, as tree hazards may be present. Proceed with caution 
  • Review your fire survival plan.   
  • If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.

  •  Many roads within the fire affected area remain closed. Check the VicTraffic website or call 13 11 70 for road closures .  
  •  Be mindful of the increased traffic, firefighting vehicles, heavy equipment  and aircraft are still working in the area.
