This Advice message is being issued for Bellfield, Bellfield Settlement, Bornes Hill, Borough Huts, Dunkeld, Flat Rock Crossing, Glenisla, Glenthompson, Grampians, Halls Gap, Jimmy Creek, Mafeking, Mirranatwa, Moyston, Pomonal, Victoria Valley, Zumsteins
  • The status of the bushfire on the eastern side of the Grampians National Park between Bellfield and Bornes Hill is now Under Control.
  • This Advice replaces the Advice issued on 28 January.
  • Firefighters and heavy machinery continue to monitor hotspots, treat hazardous trees, clear tracks and rehabilitate control lines.
  • Small areas of smoke within the containment area may be visible.
There is currently no threat to you, but you should stay informed and plan for what you will do if the situation changes. 
What you should do: 
  • Monitor weather conditions and warnings. 
  • Drive with caution. Obey road closure signs.  
  • Visitors are reminded to be cautious of ongoing risks and changes to the environment which may include fallen or damaged trees, smoke and injured wildlife.

  • Drivers may encounter fire crews and heavy machinery on roads and tracks. Please take care and drive safely. 
  • Many roads within the fire affected area remain closed. Check the VicTaffic website or call 13 11 70 for road closures.
Grampians National Park
  • The Southern Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park is closed due to the current weather conditions, which are causing unpredictable fire activity.
  • This includes Mt Abrupt, Mt Sturgeon and Piccaninny walking tracks.
  • The Grampians Tourist Road from Dunkeld to Halls Gap is currently open.
  • For details on access to the park, visit the Parks Vic website or call in to Brambuk - The National Park and Cultural Centre in Halls Gap.
