River levels along the Mitchell River at Bairnsdale are easing following recent minor flood peaks. 
 
No further significant rainfall is forecast for at least the next few days.

Mitchell River downstream of Glenaladale: 
 
Minor flooding is easing along the Mitchell River downstream of Glenaladale. 
 
The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale peaked at 6.48 metres around 1:15 am Friday, with minor flooding. The river is currently at 6.41 metres and steady, with minor flooding. The Mitchell River at Bairnsdale may fall below the minor flood level (5.60 metres) overnight Friday into Saturday.
