This Advice message is being issued for Broadford.
  • There is a building waste fire on Davis Road, Broadford.
  • Smoke may be visible from nearby roads and communities. 
  • CFA and Environment Protection Authority (EPA) are managing the incident.
  • This Advice replaces the Advice issued at 6.39 PM, Monday 25 August. 
There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
What you should do:
  • If you smell smoke, stay indoors and close windows and doors. 
  •  Older adults, children, pregnant women, and people with heart/lung conditions should avoid heavy outdoor activity. 
  •  People with asthma should follow their action plan and keep medication nearby.
Impacts in your area:
  • CFA will be regularly monitoring the area.
  • Smoke, unless heavy, is unlikely to impact water. 
  • Rainwater in tanks that have not been affected by ash and debris from a fire, and where no taint or odour is present, can be used for normal purposes.
