This Advice is being issued for Harcourt.

  • As of 11:45am Saturday 10 January, the tap water at Harcourt is not safe to drink. 
  • The Harcourt supply system also supplies areas south of Harcourt.
  • This advice has been issued following the impact of the fires in Harcourt on Friday 9 January 2026. 
  • Water services have been unable to safely access a burst water main, which may have caused contaminants to enter the water supply network.
  • Further information can be found on the Coliban Water website.
  • This Advice replaces the Advice issued at 6:01pm Tuesday 13 January. 
Tap water is not safe to drink in Harcourt. Boiling the tap water will not make it safe. 
What you should do: 
It is unsafe to use tap water for: 
  • Food preparation, cleaning food or preparing baby formula. 
  • Cleaning dishes.
  • Making ice, brushing teeth and preparing beverages.
Maintaining personal hygiene: 
  • It is important to stay clean. 
  • Use hand sanitiser after going to the bathroom and before you consume food. 
  • Use disposable baby wipe products that are not soap based without water to clean yourself. 
Impacts in your area: 
  • All residents are asked to not drink tap water until further notice.
  • A drinking water trailer for impacted residents is available at Rodilesa Nursery, on the corner of Blackjack Road and Midland Highway in Harcourt. Please only take what you need.
