This Advice message is being issued for East Natimuk, Grass Flat, Lower Norton, Natimuk, Quantong, Vectis, Vectis East, Vectis South.
  • The grass fire in the Natimuk, Quantong and Vectis area is now under control
  • Firefighting vehicles and other agencies will remain the area as part of the response and recovery efforts. 
  • Small flare-ups are normal in the aftermath of a major fire and may trigger an alert on Vic Emergency app. If these are within the burnt area they are unlikely to cause major issues but will be dealt with by crews on the fireground.

  • This Advice message replaces the Watch & Act issued Thursday 15 January 2026 at 4:56pm. 
The threat to the community has reduced, however firefighters continue to patrol the area and attend to small flare ups. Smoke and flames may continue to be visible from this fire for a number of days. Residents should stay alert for dangerous trees and electrical hazards.

  • Avoid visiting the area unless you have a legitimate reason for being there.

  • Some local roads remain closed due to safety concerns. Continue to obey all road signage.
