This Community Information message is being issued for Carlisle River between Lavers Hill-Cobden Road and Carlisle Road
  • There is a bushfire at Kennedys Creek - King Track (this fire was initially called Carlisle River - Trotters Lane) that is under control.
  • Firefighters, heavy machinery, and aircraft have been working on the fireground for several days and will continue operations to make safe the fire.
  • Smoke may still be visible from nearby communities and roads.
  • This Community Information message replaces the Community Information issued on 19/01/2026 at 11:56 am.
There is no immediate threat to the community; however, hazardous tree assessments will continue over the coming days to ensure the area is made safe.
Emergency services are working in the area. Smoke and visible flame may continue to be seen from nearby roads and communities as crews continue backburning operations. However, if you see unattended fire, call Triple Zero.

Road closures will remain in place until hazardous tree assessments can be completed and roads assessed. Check the VicTraffic website (traffic.transport.vic.gov.au) or call 13 11 70 for road closures.
