Advice message is being issued for
Irrewillipe, south of Irrewillipe Road and Ackerleys Road East, west of Colac - Lavers Hill Road, and north of Gellibrand - Carlisle Road.
- There is a bushfire at Carlisle River that is not yet under control.
- Firefighters have been able to slow the spread of fire for now, but the situation can change at any time. You must monitor conditions and be ready to act.
- Firefighters have worked diligently and have consolidated a fire edge on the south-east corner of the fire, through backburning operations that commenced on Saturday, 17/01/2026.
- This Advice replaces the Advice message previously issued on 19/01/2026 at 11:38 am
There is currently no threat to you, but you should stay informed and plan for what you will do if the situation changes.
Emergency services are working in the area. Smoke and visible flame may continue to be seen from nearby roads and communities as crews continue backburning operations. However, if you see unattended fire, call Triple Zero.
What you should do: - Monitor weather conditions
and warnings.
- Review your fire survival plan.
- If you do not have a plan, decide what you will
do if the situation changes.
- If you have time, check on your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
Impacts in your area: - Check the VicTraffic website (traffic.transport.vic.gov.au) or call 13 11 70 for road closures.
- Smoke will continue to be visible from nearby communities and roads.
- Anyone seeing native wildlife that appear caught, injured or distressed as a result of the fire should call the Incident Control Centre during daylight hours on 1300 322 056, who will coordinate assistance or via the DEECA Wildlife Emergency App.
