Advice - Fire - Stay Informed Minor Karbethong, Lake View, Mallacoota, Genoa Yesterday at 4:42 PM
This Advice message is being issued for Genoa, Karbethong, Lake View, Mallacoota.
  • The bushfire at Mallacoota - Lake Barracoota is not yet under control.
  • Several hot spots were detected along the northern edge of the fire by the NSW Aerial Intelligence Gathering (AIG) Helicopter which flew over the fire today. 
  • Mulching to increase fire breaks continues along existing tracks north of the fire edge.
  • FFMV is planning forward for crews supported by air attack, to work on blacking out these hotspots.
There is no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions, which may change.
What you should do: 
  • Monitor weather conditions and warnings. 
  • Review your fire survival plan. 
  • If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.

  • Smoke may still be visible from nearby communities and roads.
