The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Weather Warning for Mallee and parts of Northern Country, Wimmera and North Central Forecast Districts
  • Locations which may be affected include Mildura, Horsham, Bendigo and surrounds.
  • The severe weather is likely to include locally intense rainfall, that may lead to dangerous and life-threatening flash flooding.
  • The Mallee is most likely to be impacted from late this evening.
  • Parts of the northeast Wimmera, western Northern Country, western North Central and far northeastern South West forecast districts are most likely to be impacted overnight and into Monday.
  • Six-hourly rainfall totals between 70 to 100 mm are possible.
  • Heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding is also likely in the western districts from late this evening and central districts into Monday.
  • This Watch and Act message replaces the Advice issued at 12:25 pm, Sunday 1 March 2026.
Be aware of potential hazards caused by the severe thunderstorm, including floodwater, debris, damaged buildings, trees down, and fallen power lines.
What you should do: 
  • Park your car undercover and away from trees. 
  • Stay inside if conditions outside appear dangerous. 
  • Contact family members and neighbours to ensure they are aware of the situation, if safe to do so. 
  • Floodwater is dangerous - never enter floodwater.      
If you are driving: 
  • Drive slowly and obey all road signs. Never drive through floodwater. 
  • If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. 
  • Be aware of road hazards such as mud, debris and damaged roads or bridges.
