This Minor Flood Warning is being issued for Avoca River to Charlton Town.

  • Moderate rainfall totals have been observed across the Avoca catchment over the weekend, with river level rises now occurring along parts of the Avoca River. 
  • Further rainfall is possible for the remainder of Monday which may cause additional river level rises. Depending on rainfall received, minor flooding is possible at Charlton Town from overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
  • Minor flooding is possible along the Avoca River. The Avoca River at Charlton Town is currently at 2.74 m and steady, below the minor flood level. 
  • The Avoca River at Charlton Town may reach around the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

  • In the 48 hours to 9am Monday, 2 March 54.0mm of rainfall was received at Yawong Weir. Since 9am this morning, 5.4mm has been recorded at Yawong Weir and at Charlton.
  • Emergency services are closely monitoring the situation and will advise if any further action is required by the community.
