This is a Final Minor Flood Warning for Cann River
  • Rainfall observed overnight Thursday and during Friday has led to river level rises and areas of flooding across the Cann, Genoa and Bemm River catchments.
  • Minor flooding is no longer occurring along the Cann River at Weeragua. 
  • River levels along the Genoa River at the Gorge are slowly rising, but are likely to peak below the minor flood level during Saturday. 
  • River levels are elevated along the Bemm River.
Cann River:
  • No further flooding expected along the Cann River.
  • The Cann River at Weeragua is currently at 2.13 m and falling, below the minor flood level. 
  • The Cann River at Weeragua is expected to remain below the minor flood level (3.00 m).
The threat of flooding is reduced. Stay informed - monitor your local conditions and beware of hazards remaining in the warning area.
What you should do:
  • Be prepared to act if your situation changes.
  • Floodwater is dangerous - never enter floodwater.
If your home or business has been flooded:
  • Check for building damage before you enter.
  • Have all electrical and gas equipment professionally tested before use.
  • Clean and dry out the building as soon as possible.

  • Stagnant water can be harmful to your health. Don’t swim, drink or wash in stagnant water.
