  • Minor flooding is occurring at Charlton Town.
  • The Avoca River at Charlton Town is currently at 4.40 m and falling, with minor flooding. 
  • The Avoca River at Charlton Town is likely to fall below the minor flood level (4.00 m) overnight from Saturday into Sunday.
  • This is an update, replacing the Advice message issued at 12:58pm on Friday 28 August.

What you should do: 
  • Floodwater is dangerous - never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.
  • Be aware of road hazards including mud, debris and damaged roads or bridges.
Impacts in your area: 
  • Over-floor flooding of homes is not currently expected.
  • The Boort-Wycheproof Road crossing at the Avoca River may become flooded and unsafe to use.
  • Flooding of farmland downstream of Glenloth around Bunguluke and Ninyeunook, and inundation of local roads such as Jeruk River Road North and Ninyeunook Road, is possible.
  • Floodwaters may persist for several days as they move through the floodplain.
