This Advice message is being issued for Omeo Highway between Mitta Mitta and Glen Wills.
  • There is a bushfire at 14.4Km S Of Granite Flat that is contained.
  • The bushfire is located east of the Omeo Highway along the Dunstans Log Road.
  • Fire crews and heavy plant continue to work on the fire to bring it under control.
  • Take caution whilst travelling along the Omeo Highway. Large trucks are transporting heavy plant along the Omeo Highway to and the fire. 
  • This Advice replaces the advice message issued Friday 18 September 2026 at 10:21am.
There is currently no threat to communities, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.

  • Monitor weather conditions and warnings. 
  • Review your fire survival plan. 
  • If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.
Impacts in your area: 
  • Firefighters are responding to this fire.
  • Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads. 
  • Fire response vehicles including large trucks are transporting heavy machinery along the Omeo highway to the fire.
  • Bulldozers are operating in the area.
